Photo viewer

The photos on the pages can be viewed in two different sizes. Default setting is small to speed up loading of the pages. You can change image size either directly in the page or in settings.

When viewing photos in the smaller size you can click on a photo to view it in larger size. You will also get arrows for viewing the previous and next photo in the large size. Clicking on the large photo will close it. You can start a slideshow that automatically shows larger photos of the group in succession. The delay between photos can be changed in settings. Of course you can stop and start the slideshow again.

The photos can be sorted lexically or chronologically, select in settings. Default is reversed chronologic order according to file date.

On the photo archive page you can search for photos of a cat by its name. We usually name the photos with part of the cats full name and age. Sometimes we use the litter name, ex. k-kullen (swedish for k-litter). The search function is case sensitive and you can use patterns, ex. '3v' will produce all kitten photos at the age of three weeks. You can also enumerate many names with ';' in between.

The pedigrees can be shown with different depth, that is generations. We use the standard that counts the parents as the first generation. With a four generations pedigree we mean the cat plus four generations.

The cats own name in the pedigree have a link to the cats own page. All other cat names in the pedigree have links to the pedigree for that cat from which you then can go to that cats own page.

You can use the search form to find cats and also to examine hypotetical matings by naming two cats with a '*' between. It is possible to group them width '(' and ')' to create more complicated trees.

For the curious and to document it, here is the complete syntax in modified BNF for hypotetical matings:
mating = cat | mating '*' cat
cat = id | [id ':'] ['"' name '"'] ['(' mating ')']

The id ':' temporarily introduces/references cats not in the database and '"' name '"' gives them names.

Photos of some of the cats may be shown in the first three generations of the pedigree. This can be turned on and off both at the end of the pedigree and in the settings.
